Europe’s largest known illegal IPTV operation dismantled by police

Recently Europol and Dutch authorities took down one of the biggest illegal IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) services. These services are serving over one million users in Europe.
During a clash with the world of illegal streaming, Europol has joined forces with the Dutch Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) to disassemble an extensive illegal IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) service catering to over one million users throughout Europe.

Europe’s IPTV News

Europol announced in a press release that a series of meticulously prepared raids were executed across the Netherlands. It was part of a crackdown on illegal streaming functions. FIOD officers found through searches at different locations across the country, unearthing proof that can potentially bring down this illegal business.
The operation resulted in the suspicion of several people doubted of playing a pivotal role in helping the illegal streaming of premium content. These people are believed to have enabled subscribers to get access to an expansive array of over 10,000 live TV channels, accompanied by an extensive library boasting 15,000 films and TV shows.

Europol, through its European Financial and Economic Crime Centre, provided analytical support to the investigation, aiding in the identification of key targets and their illicit activities across Europe.

According to reports, FIOD raided a data center (Globe data center) in Den Helder City as well. It was done to provide services to the now-seized IPTV infrastructure. A look at the Globe data center’s website tells us that it has been offline and unreachable for some days.

Furthermore, illegal streaming has become an unhindered issue in the past couple of years. These criminal networks didn’t only undermine legitimate businesses but also deprived content creators and copyright holders of their rightful earnings.
Europol’s continuous commitment to fighting this form of organized crime highlights the need for international cooperation and harmonized efforts to address the difficult challenges. By disassembling this major network, Europol and the FIOD have struck a deep blow against those benefiting from piracy and defending the interests of lawful content providers.

Conclusion:

As investigations persist, management is convinced that this operation will send a powerful message to criminals entangled in illegal streaming activities across Europe. This collaboration between Europol and national law enforcement agencies serves as a transparent warning that the fight against illegal IPTV services is strengthening, leaving no haven for those seeking to control the entertainment industry.
